Thank you all for your incredible support—we've even unlocked a stretch goal! With your help, we're not only adding the unlocked Mounts and Companions, but we've also decided to expand Races, Classes, Armor, and Weapons so you'll have even more to enjoy. We want to give you as much as we can in the final game!
Every set will still include the 6 original minis, and while we aren't able to produce minis for the new races, this also gives you the freedom to choose your own favorites from local shops or collections to represent them however you'd like.
A quick reminder: late pledges and any unsubmitted items from Enhanced or higher tiers will close in 10 days.

What is Role to Reign?
A tactical fantasy board game for 2–6 players, where every match plays out differently. Modular maps, randomized characters, and dynamic events create a new story each time.
No scripts. No routines. Just strategy, risk-taking, and your will to survive.
No Map Ever the Same.
The board is built from modular hex tiles, shuffled and reshaped each campaign. Cities, terrain, and events will never be in the same place twice!
Character Creation – No Picking Favorites! (Most of the time).
You start by drawing your initial Role : a mix of race, class, and weapon, from a pool of 6 races, 12 classes, and 24 weapons (over1,700 combinations).
Your Race and Class give you two starting abilities. A third ability unlocks when you find the matching weapon for the set.

Master your Character.
As the game unfolds, you'll collect loot, earn, or trade for gear suited to your unique role.
Obtain more abilities and stats from armor sets, companions and mounts that you buy at the stable icon on the board.
Conquer Cities and upgrade them for permanent benefits, attack towers for immediate rewards, or gamble your resources at Beacon and Anvil locations for powerful effects.
Defeat other players in a specialized attack/defense PvP to steal some of their items, gold, or ignore them entirely and destroy and take over their cities and strongholds instead.
Win YOUR Way.
Choose from multiple paths to victory:
- Control all 6 Strongholds
- Conquer all 12 cities — alone or with an ally
- Earn 2500 gold through trade, conquest, or theft
- Complete major quests and earn 18 Quest Points
- Defeat your opponents — eliminate them 6 times to win by survival, or wait for them to kill each other.

How a Turn Works
Each turn flows through seven quick phases, designed to keep gameplay moving and prevent exploits. You are never forced to complete phases that may not benefit your plans, but they must be done in order.
- Gold & Recovery: Collect gold from owned cities or strongholds. If you healed at the end of your last turn, stats are recovered now.
- Card or Mana: Play a card (earned during gameplay), or roll 1d6 Mana to spend on healing or extra movement.
- Move: Travel based on terrain cost. Each tile (trapezoid) costs 1 movement unless terrain says otherwise.
- Action: Choose one — fight, buy a mount/companion, gamble at a Beacon, play a card, or heal.
- Upgrade / Trade / Ally: Upgrade your city, trade cards, or form alliances.
- Move Again & Heal: Use leftover movement and/or heal (80 Gold outside your own city). Healing during this turn takes effect next turn.
- End Turn: Draw one End of Turn card. These are boons or bads, and can affect everyone playing!
Turns affect the other players, and there is a lot of interaction from the end-of-turn cards.
